Dwight Naylor

Hi! 👋

My name is Dwight, and I love writing software.

I've been coding serious projects since I was a kid in 2008, building gemoetry proof-writers, 3d engines, and videogames from scratch.

In high-school, I interned at NASA's Ames Research Center, where I worked on automated theorem proving and formal verification for four years.

After graduating from RPI, I joined Google, where I started in Ads infrastructure. I used my 20% time (Google's side-project time) to make new code visualizations, and eventually switched to leading R&D on Google's central code tooling. I then transferred to Google's Engineering Productivity, working on automated testing and verification.

Today I work in Google's Ads DevAI team, automating code migration and transformation with LLMs and AI.

I've got a long list of personal projects, from AI and NLP (before it was cool), to many homemade games, and even a program that could invent its own computer algorithms (I "enrolled" it in my algorithms class at RPI). I love making tools that help other developers work better.

About Me

I do tons of sports and love talking about all of them. I was a gymnast and martial artist as a kid, a powerlifter and olympic lifter in college, and I've since gotten super into running, hiking, trail-running, swimming, diving, freediving, snowboarding, climbing, and others.

Check out my Strava profile

I also love cooking and food. I'll eat anything, but I'm a huge fan of making sushi, fried chicken, steak, seitan, and tons of other stuff.

I was a huge gamer in my youth, and still occasionally dabble. I also love chess and scrabble, as well as tons of other board/card games.

Feel free to reach out if you want to join me for any of these activities—I'm always happy to have company.

Trash Cleanup

Trash Diving

I invented a sport, "trash diving", which involves freediving off of docks and piers to find trash. I've found dozens of phones and sunglasses which sit around my house, along with bikes, scooters, hard-drives, fishing rods, and dozens of other paraphernalia, including a handgun. Ask to see my trash-diving album :)

Land Trash Pickups

I've filled over 50 large trash bags doing trash walks and do them whenever I can. Join me!
